Judging the DIGIXX Awards

The DIGIXX Awards are judged by an independent panel of highly acclaimed thought leaders in the advertising ecosystem—advertising agency executives who create campaigns for the world's most powerful brands, marketers with direct control over many of the largest advertising budgets and major media company leaders.

Judging Parameters:

Objectives & Strategy

  • Were the project objectives clearly stated and did the team have an understanding of how the objectives relate to longer-term business objectives?
  • What strategy was used to achieve the objectives?


  • Did the project team demonstrate more than just best practice or use a new or innovative approach to achieving the objectives?
  • How creatively was the project executed and implemented to produce exceptional performance?

Innovation that drove Effectiveness & Business Results

  • How successful was the project in relation to the original objectives?
  • Results need to include robust data pertaining to:
    • - Return on Investment
    • - Brand awareness
    • - Increased sales
    • - Sustainable competitive advantage

Intense scrutiny during the judging process ensures that winning submissions reflect the industry’s best work and reward the creatives and brands successfully using innovation to push interactive to new levels.

The DIGIXX Awards screening committee – comprising senior marketing and media professionals – will evaluate and score each submission. Every entry is evaluated by multiple committee members to ensure an accurate, thorough review. The five entries with the highest scores become the finalists for each category. Finalists will be notified.

Please make your submission concise, but provide enough relevant background information to enable the judges to make an informed choice.

Anita Nayyar is a veteran of the Indian media industry. As CEO, she took on the mandate of expanding the Havas Media Group footprint in the emerging South Asia markets in 2006.

Under her leadership Havas Media Group in India has grown exponentially. It has expanded its offerings as an integrated communications group for traditional, digital, mobile, performance marketing and out-of-home. The agency has grown 8 times in 10 years. Nayyar was voted the 2nd most influential media person in India by the Brand Equity Survey 2006 and has been on the top list of media personalities ever since. Under her leadership, Havas Media Group India was selected as the Top 10 Full Service Advertising Agencies - Most Promising Marketing Companies 2016 by Silicon India Magazine; it won Best Media Agency 2014 at the Asian Brand and Leadership Summit and Office of the Year at the Havas Media Asia Pacific Awards 2014.

Her 30+years in the industry have seen her manage a portfolio of brands across sectors. A prominent speaker, moderator, panelist and judge at all the major events and awards year on year, Nayyar’s views and opinions are sort by the media.

In the course of her career, she has led top agencies in India, including Sistas Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy & Mather, Initiative Media, MediaCom, Mudra Communications and Starcom Worldwide.

Sanjay Tripathy is the Senior Executive Vice President - Marketing, Analytics, Digital and E-Commerce, and member of the Executive management Committee at HDFC Life. His core responsibilities comprise Marketing, Brand Planning, Advertising, Communication & Media, Customer Insights, E-Commerce and Digital Strategy, Customer Analytics, and Corporate Communication. Tripathy is credited for establishing HDFC Life as a strong and distinct brand in the insurance category through ‘Self Respect,’ the core brand proposition.

He started his career with GCMMF Ltd in 1992. Since then he has worked with various reputed organisations like Frito-Lay (PepsiCo), Mattel and Reliance Communications (erstwhile Reliance Infocomm) before moving on to his current role at HDFC Life in 2004.

Tripathy has been honoured with the ‘Marketer of the Year’ Award for two years in a row in the Insurance category by the International Advertising Association (IAA) in their flagship Leadership Awards in 2014 and in 2015. He has featured in Campaign India’s ‘The A list’ of most influential people in Media, Marketing and Advertising for five continuous years, apart from winning several other awards. He is a management graduate from IRMA and is the Vice Chairman at Media Research Users Council (MRUC), an Advisory Board member at DMAi (Direct Marketing Association - India) and iMedia.

Sandip Tarkas — Consultant, Future Group & Future Media, India

Graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay and Business Management from IIM Bangalore, Sandip has worked in areas as diverse as oil production to Sales, Marketing and Media Management.

During his stint in media investment management, he was involved in three successful start-ups on the agency side (MindShare Fulcrum, India of which he was the first employee, MindShare Fulcrum Sri Lanka and MPG). His previous assignment before joining Future Group was with Reliance ADA Group, as Head (Media) for the Reliance ADA Group.

At Future Group Sandip is the President (Customer Strategy) for the Group. The role involves owning the customer relationships from end-to-end, including Marketing, Research, and Media.

Vivek Bhargava — CEO, DAN Performance Group

Vivek Bhargava was recently elevated to CEO of DAN Performance Group, heading, where he is responsible for all the Digital Performance Agencies of Dentsu Aegis Media.

Bhargava is the founder and Managing Director of iProspect Communicate 2. About 20 years ago, Bhargava actualised his entrepreneurial edge by founding Communicate 2, which emerged to be one of India’s largest Search and Social Media Specialist organisations. In 2012, Communicate 2 was acquired by iProspect (Aegis Media). iProspect Communicate 2 dominates performance-oriented digital advertising domain in India, and helps digital agencies in Europe and the US to become more profitable and flexible by providing Search offshore services.

Bhargava has spent the last 20 years guiding the Digital Strategies of the likes of MTV, Newscorp, Citi Bank, TCS, HDFC Bank, ClearTrip, and Reliance in both Indian and Global Markets. He is a regular speaker at global events such as Ad-tech, SES, SMX, I-com, and the Apex Digital conferences in India. He has been called as a guest lecturer at the prestigious Indian institutions such as IIT Mumbai, IIM Bangalore, and 20 other educational institutes.

Babita Baruah — Managing Partner and Head, JWT PO1

Babita Baruah was recently entrusted with independent charge of JWT’s business unit – Power of One (PO1) – that handles a large number of PepsiCo’s flagship brands. She has been with JWT for 20 years. She was Business Head in JWT Mumbai till July 2010, before moving to JWT Delhi. She worked on Nestle for two years before moving on to head PO1, an independent business unit for PepsiCo. Her portfolio has been extensive – Unilever brands, Godrej brands, Kotak brands, Aditya Birla Capital, Kingfisher Airlines, Diageo, Kelloggs, Wills, Bata, Emami, World Gold Council, De Beers, and Nokia.

Beyond work, Baruah is actively engaged in mentoring students and women at work, speaking in industry forums, and is part of JWT’s Worldwide Diversity Council. She was invited to Harvard Business School earlier this year as a speaker on marketing trends, for the India Conference.

She blogs regularly on Advertising and takes guest lecture sessions in leading Indian management institutes like IIM, SP Jain, IIFT and MDI. Baruah is a first class economics graduate from Cotton College and holds a first class MBA degree in marketing from Gauhati University.

Pradeep Dwivedi — CEO, Sakal Media Group

Pradeep Dwivedi recently took charge as CEO of Sakal Media Group for their media business. He is an accomplished industry leader with an experience of over 23 years of B2B as well as B2C management – cutting across functions and industries. He has wide-based expertise in Sales & marketing, service delivery, risk operations and business management, across Media, Telecommunications, Banking and Financial Services and Automotive industry domains.

Dwivedi is an MBA from Punjab University with specialisation in Marketing and Finance. He has also done an Executive Program from the University of Michigan, Stephen M. Ross School of Business, at Tata Management Training Centre. He is passionate about people power, and believes in leveraging the strength of traditional and digital media for transformation through social and professional networks.

He is an active participant in many industry associations such as IAA (International Advertising Association – India Chapter) as Honorary Secretary & Managing Committee member and The Advertising Club of India as managing committee member. In addition, he has been an Advocacy Board Member for the APAC-communication sector at Microsoft Inc. He has also been part of the Campaign ‘A’ List of Advertising & Marketing professionals in India. In his most recent role, he was the Chief Corporate Sales and marketing officer at Dainik Bhaskar Group, one of India’s largest newspaper groups. He commenced his career with managing sales, distribution and marketing with Eicher Motors Ltd in the automotive industry.

Maheshwer Peri is the Founder of Pathfinder Publishing and serves as its Chairman and Publisher. He has been Mentor for the Outlook Group since April 2012. He works on creating the largest education portals across six verticals in India to advise/ counsel and hand hold students and help them achieve their career goals.

Peri started his career as an investment banker with SBI Capital Markets. He served as a Merchant Banker for three years. He also worked with Hathway Investments, a wholly-owned company of the Rajan Raheja Group. He was associated with the Outlook Group for 17 years and headed it for more than 10 years. He worked on many projects in varying industries, including the ones on media.

Peri turned an entrepreneur in 2009 and started his own publishing venture, Pathfinder Publishing. He believes that the demographic dividend India seeks can turn into a nightmare if youth are not shown the right direction to maximise their capabilities. He served as a Director of Aptech Ltd from October 31, 2012 to March 28, 2016.

He has led the content and marketing for digital advertising events - ad:tech and iMedia Summits in India.

In the course of his career, which included a 13-year stint with Unilever, Banerjee has worked across Country P&L roles and Global / Regional Brand Marketing roles, with rich exposure across Developing & Emerging Markets. His last role in Unilever was as Country Marketing Director / CMO & a member of the Management Committee at Unilever Sri Lanka. He has lived and worked across India, Singapore, the UK and Sri Lanka.

Banerjee is a published author and a top-ranked speaker on Business Innovation and Consumer Marketing at industry conferences across the Asia Pacific Region.

Within eight months of existence, the agency managed more than 20 brands, including the likes of ICICI Bank, RBL Bank, Pidilite, Cleartax, Future Generali, and Swiggy, among others.

Shivanandan is a successful entrepreneur, who has played an integral role in transforming two successful digital advertising start-ups, which have now been acquired by two of the biggest media groups worldwide. He was one of the co-founders of Resultrix, which was later acquired by Publicis Groupe.

During the course of his career, Shivanandan has managed clients and campaigns locally and globally across various verticals like Banking, Finance, Travel, Entertainment, E-commerce, Technology, Property, Education, Recruitment, Web Portals, etc.

Mayoori Kango — Managing Director, Performics.Resultrix

Mayoori Kango is the Managing Director of Performics.Resultrix, part of Zenith, Publicis Media India. Previously, she was with the group as Chief Digital Officer.

Kango’s experience spans diverse areas such as business development, digital marketing, people management and training, product development and financial planning and operations. She was a part of the Indian film industry once, but went on to the US in the year 2005 to pursue her MBA in marketing and finance. While studying she started working at broadcast company NBC on their digital campaigns. Post her graduating, she joined 360i as a search engine marketing manager; managing prestigious accounts like MTV, National Geographic and Panasonic. She has both a strategic bent of mind and business acumen and quickly rose through the ranks at 360i and went on to become a media supervisor.

In 2009, she joined Resolution Media OMD, part of Omnicom as an associate director leading the Pepsi, HP and accounts. She was also instrumental in launching in North America, LATM & Asia. While there, she won awards, for instance, award for being ‘Digital evangelist for PepsiCo’ and ‘Employee of the Year’. When she was in Digitas, she led the Kraft and the Delta Airlines account, which grew 100 per cent in billings under her leadership.

Sudarshan Banerjee — Co-Founder and managing partner, Utopeia

Sudarshan has done Media, Strategy, Direct Marketing, Digital Marketing and Account Management on top of the early life of a copywriter. He started work early, so has been able to put in 19 years of work. Began working with Bates Clarion in Kolkata after his MBA. A few years later, he went out of the country, worked in South-Asia, with stints in Singapore and Dubai for Grey Worldwide, handling regional responsibilities for key businesses like BAT, P&G, GSK, Emirates and Reckitt Benckiser. He became the youngest branch head in the biggest branch of India's leading one2one marketing agency -iContract, Bombay.

Looking at Integrated planning for 360 brand ideas is really quite a passion for him and therefore, Saatchi and Saatchi's theory of Lovemarks, to look beyond branding, made an impression on him.

His growing interest in Transmedia Communication made him take up a start-up kind of job heading the Bombay office of Genesis Advertising, which unfortunately was timed perfectly with the onset of the recession.

Leading the New Business Development efforts at DDBMudra West since mid-2009, he went on to head one of the 3 large Business groups in the office. Then became the Head of Ignite Mudra - the specialist agency for Entrepreneurs and Early-Stage brands.

He had been troubled by the loss of Love across agency-client relationships & that of employee-agency relationships, he decided to do something about it. Teamed up with a bunch of like-minded & passionate friends & launched Utopeia.

He has led teams that have won both Indian & International awards, including Abbys, Cannes, etc. Sudarshan is a digital evangelist. At one time, CNN-IBN put him in their ‘30 interesting Indians to follow on Twitter’. He has also been a speaker at TEDx – speaking upon The Future of Social in 2020.

Ajay has 18 years of work experience in sales, marketing and business assignments with a diverse set of challenges and business drivers. He has had rich exposure across sectors from FMCG, Consumer Finance to Media. He has worked with Nestle, Colgate Palmolive, Godrej Saralee, General Electric and HT Media before joining Godrej.

This is Ajay’s second stint with Godrej and the Household insecticide category. In his past stints he has been part of General Electric’s premier global sales & marketing leadership cadre.
